Eventuality

Al Fatiha
Abdul Rahman bin Bahanuddin

I've known people my age who passed away before... but never a friend as close as Rahman. Attending his funeral was indeed a wake up call. There's so much truth in that one line the 'tukang mandi' said.

"Penguasaan Mutlak".... Complete & Unchallenged Control.
Which takes me back to one of the many discussions I had with some friends...
If we have absolutely no control over our lives... why bother living it? But then, if we stopped bothering to live, to pursue, to strive... we'd be betraying ourselves and the reason that we are put here to live in the first place.
So, what do we make of this fact?

Yes, fate is real, and if anything is ordained to happen to us, it will. Death will come for all of us, maybe now, 5 minutes later, a week later, 5 years later, 50 years later...

All we can do is make the most of our existence... to prepare for our departure.

Seeing a person die, and him not taking anything of this world to the next... makes you think, what is it that you really bring over... and do we have enough of that?
Whatever we are doing now, in this world, we just gotta keep in mind our destination... And maybe it's not a thing we like to dwell our thoughts upon, but it's as real as it gets. And it WILL come to us. And as I have seen today, it might be sooner than we think.

I hope it's not too late for me.
